Wayne Johnson is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of ARTC, which strives to deliver a safe and effective rail network operation that connects the nation.

He has more than 15 years of leadership experience across Australia’s resources, freight and logistics industries, including mine, port and rail operations.

Since joining ARTC in 2015 and prior to his appointment as CEO and MD in December 2023, Wayne helped drive the company’s Hunter Valley business, including responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of the network.

An unashamed champion of rail as a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible mode of transport, Wayne’s leadership helps guide ARTC’s safety, reliability and resilience focus in partnership with customers and the broader supply chain.
