Airport pavement resilience on the international research agenda

How do airports keep critical infrastructure performing when the conditions around it are changing? It's a question bringing researchers and transport specialists together around the world.

At the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, NTRO contributed to a workshop exploring airfield pavement resilience and climate risk. Johan Cronjé shared how NTRO's iPAVE technology is being used to support airport asset management in Australia.

Knowing what's happening beneath the surface gives asset owners a stronger starting point for maintenance, investment and long-term planning. And there is plenty to learn when airport, road and other infrastructure specialists share their experience.

At the NTRO International Conference 2027, we'll keep asking what it takes to build transport networks that perform under pressure, and what we can learn from approaches already being put into practice.
